Colour has particular symbolic associations in relation to it but when it is viewed in this way; via its symbolism, it becomes paradoxical. Perhaps everything exists in some sort of paradox and when looking at colour we can see these paradoxes very clearly.

With Blue, which we see as a primary colour, we have ideas like difficulties with authority issues, difficulties with nurturing and analytical thinking. But also we have compassion, nurturing, faith and trust. The blue also represents the mind itself and the element of space. In the physical the blue relates to the throat area, including the thyroid. It also relates to the breath. Perhaps by using the blue we could increase the awareness of the basic substance of mind, come to more peacefulness and thus increase consciousness.

A few other meanings of the colours are:

  • Red is energy, the life force, the awakening energy. It is about grounding, the material side of life, survival issues, and practicality. It has passion, which is the basic energy for love. The paradoxes associated with this colour are anger, frustration and resentment.
  • Yellow symbolizes happiness, individuation, mental clarity, assimilation & knowledge. The paradox for yellow is fear, anxiety, mental confusion and control.

In addition:

Besides the balance oils, the colour bottles, which contain herbal extracts, essential oils, and aroma-essences with crystal energies, we have pomanders and quintessence which are used for self-protection in the energy field and to invoke the energy of the colour ray into the auric sphere. There is a set of bottles within the bottles that can be used for the different charkas or energy centers of the body. For the base chakra we use gold/red; for the navel-orange/orange; the solar plexus-yellow/gold; Blue/green for the heart chakra, Blue/Blue for the throat chakra; Blue/Purple Rescue for the head chakra. A finer form of the Blue/purple rescue is the Blue/pink child's rescue.

Conclusion:

Consciousness recognizes itself in the form of waveforms of colour and light. The Tibetan Book of the Dead mentions that colour and light is experienced in the after death state. We know that the quality of the next incarnational experience is based on the actions of a particular lifetime.

Our chosen colours have the capacity to gently guide and reward us with a deep understanding and experience of our soul selves, past, present and to come. Through the wave-lengths of colour we become self empowered and discover that we are co-creators of our future.
